CONCLUSION

The clinical diagnosis of a pulmonary embolism is made on a bundle of arguments, among which none itself permits a sure diagnosis.

The polymorphism of the affection is one of its major features. If in most cases, the anticoagulation permits the “ad integrum” restitution of the vascular pulmonary network, the lethal risk is real in the recidivation or massive shapes.

The diagnosis is made in 2 stages: it is first of all necessary to confirm the pulmonary embolism thanks to simple exams reinforcing the clinical impression, then to use the necessary imagery means to make the diagnosis and assess the gravity of the affection.

The research of a cause is indispensable.
