CONCLUSION

To the Osler’s classic concept of subacute infectious endocarditis, one currently opposes the concept of acute infective endocarditis concerning the intravenous drug abuse infective endocarditis and the one of the patient carrier of a cardiac prosthetic valve.

The diagnosis approach is stereotyped, based on the blood cultures and now the echocardiography permitting a comfortable monitoring.

The infectious endocarditis remains a serious affection, since nearly 40% of the cases evolve adversely.

Carrying the card of prevention of the infective endocarditis by the patient is indispensable.
