THE MONITORING

It first of all rests on the monitoring of the therapeutic treatments instituted, but also on the existence of symptoms.

The recording of the EKG during at least 24 hours (Holter) must not show any evolution into an atrial fibrillation and there must not be numerous atrial premature beats. The patient must have been stable for more than 3 months, and the atrial fibrillation should be recent and easily reduced to stop the anticoagulants.

In the other cases, they are continued to life, with a strict biologic monitoring and under medical control.

A strict control of the B.P. is also necessary.
