INDICATIONS

The cardiologist prescribes a scintigraphy of the heart in the main following cases:

- Research of an area of the cardiac muscle badly irrigated in blood, because of the existence of a stricture at the level of a heart artery (the coronary artery);

- Assessment of the viability of the heart muscle. This indication is interesting before the implementation of a revascularization of a coronary artery (by setting up a prosthesis into the artery or achieving an aorto-coronary bypass);

- Assessment of the contraction capacity of the heart muscle (calculation of the ejection fraction).
