COMPLICATIONS

The complications are represented by the local infection at the level of the point of puncture, the generalized infection and especially by the mechanical complications.

These mechanical complications correspond to the perforation of the heart by the probe, thus achieving a blood effusion in the envelope surrounding the heart, the pericardium (haemopericardium).

The complications at the level of the point of venous puncture are also possible: simple haematoma, arterial wound.

The other complications of this type are the lesion of a part of the electric tissue, able to be momentarily responsible for a cardiac arrest. Very fortunately, these complications are very rare.
